The controversial comedian Roseanne Barr – whose restart of the TV series “Roseanne” was canceled after a racist attack on Twitter – joins the lineup on the occasion of an upcoming Trumpettes party in the United States in Mar-a-Lago, according to Palm Beach Post.
Barr will be a speaker at Donald Trump’s golf resort for the gala, which begins February 1 and is organized by the president’s supporters. The event is already sold out, the group noted on its Facebook page with a link to the history of the newspaper announcing the appearance of Barr. Donald Trump Jr. will also participate. (All participants will receive a copy of his book.)
Trumpettes founder Toni Holt Kramer told the Palm Beach Post that she is “thrilled” to have Barr. Trumpettes also expect the president to be in his club that weekend.
“Roseanne is a loyal Trump supporter. If there has ever been anyone who has really put his mouth to his mouth and said how much he loves the president, he is one of them, “Holt Kramer told the newspaper.
Barr’s streak was canceled by ABC last year after attacking Valerie Jarrett, former assistant to the Obama White House, on Twitter.
“The Muslim brotherhood and the planet of the apes had a child = vj,” tweeted Barr referring to Jarrett, who is black and was born in Iran to American parents.
Barr later apologized and canceled the tweet, blaming it for a prescription drug he had taken. “It was 2 in the morning and I was tweeting Ambien,” Barr tweeted at the time. “I have gone too far and I don’t want him to be defended. It was excellent [and] indefensible.”
A representative of the French company that makes Ambien, Sanofi, replied: “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi drug.”
Months later Barr insisted on being called a racist because he voted for Trump.
Holt Kramer said to the Post: “I know Roseanne, and if I know someone who isn’t racist, it’s definitely Roseanne.”
He said Barr was being unfairly attacked after his tweet because “Hollywood is a very sinister democratic community. They want everyone to be on the left and if not, you won’t be working very often, “he added.
