The 2020 edition of Francofolies cannot take place in this context of health crisis linked to the coronavirus. The organizers announce its postponement until next year.
[Mis à jour le 14 avril 2020 à 15h30] The festivals cancel their 2020 edition one after the other. And the Francofolies will not escape the health crisis linked to the coronavirus pandemic: the organizers announced via a press release published Tuesday April 14 that the festival was canceled and postponed until next year. “Following the declarations of the President of the Republic, this Monday, April 13, 2020, not authorizing the holding of festivals until mid-July, the 36th edition of the Francofolies de La Rochelle, which was to be held from 10 to July 14, 2020, is therefore postponed from July 10 to 14, 2012 “, can be read in the press release from the festival team, which was to blow out its 36 candles this summer.
“We are now collaborating with the artists of the 2020 program so that they will be present at the next edition. For holders of 2020 tickets, we will come back to you very soon with different solutions,” he added. Festival-goers who bought a ticket for this year can probably be reimbursed or keep these tickets if they remain valid for next year. The Francos are therefore also forced to be canceled, after other events such as the Printemps de Bourges, the Lollapalooza, Solidays the Hellfest or the Eurockéennes de Belfort and the Nuits de Fourvière.

The Francofolies 2020 were to last five days, from Friday July 10 to Tuesday July 14, 2020. They will therefore be postponed to the same dates, in 2021. Nearly 80 artists were to perform during the five days of the festival. A program that aims to be eclectic and open to everyone, ranging from hip hop to electro through this year, through rap, rock and pop, while giving pride of place to French-speaking artists and musical revelations.
Since its creation in 1985, the festival has become an essential stage of the summer. As every year, nearly a dozen concerts are free and the port of La Rochelle will once again put on its festive attire to welcome more than 150,000 festival-goers. For 30 years the concept of Francofolies has seduced. The craze is such that the festival has been exported abroad. They are celebrated from New York to Nendaz (Switzerland) via Montreal, Buenos Aires or Berlin.
The prices of the concerts vary according to the artists, the number of days reserved, etc … Count between 30 euros (standing place) and 50 euros (sitting place) on the Jean-Louis Foulquier Stage, to book here or to take on place, at least one hour before the start of the concert. Note that general subscriptions are also offered for sale on the site of Fnac, at a price of 103.50 euros. After the cancellation of the festival, it is a safe bet that the organizers will set up a reimbursement of the Francofolies places.
