The government plans to provide a subsidy of IDR 6.5 million per unit purchase electric motor. This plan is due to roll out next year.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said that this scheme is expected to make the price of electric motorcycles more affordable for the public.

“If you want to switch motorcycles to electricity next year, yes. Later you will get subsidies,” Luhut said as quoted by Reuters.

There are currently nine brands of electric motorcycles that you can buy. Each brand has its own “uniqueness” for those who are interested in buying. Here is the list:


Another electric motor namely Gesits, originally made from Indonesia. Gesits are sold at prices starting at IDR 28 million.

The Gesits electric motor has 6.7 horsepower and is supported by a Lithium NCM battery with a capacity of 3 kWh which claims to be able to go up to 100 km per hour when the battery is fully charged.


Another brand that sells electric motorcycles is Viar through the Q1 model equipped with two batteries, each measuring 60V23Ah. The maximum speed of this electric motor is only 60 km per hour. Viar sells this product at a price of IDR 21 million.

United States

The United States as a bicycle manufacturer has also started a new business in selling electric motorcycles using the T1800 model which has a price of IDR 30 million.

This motorcycle is an electric motor BOSCH 60V1800W with 27 Nm of torque and 1,800 W of power.

The engine is equipped with a lithium battery 60V 28Ah which in 100 percent condition can reach a maximum speed of 70 km per hour and a range of up to 60 km and an average speed of 50 to 60 km per hour in normal speed mode.


Another product is Niu GOVA-03 with a maximum speed of 60 km per hour and a range of 55 to 75 km. This motorcycle has a price of 25 million IDR.

It can take up to seven hours to fully charge the battery. The battery used in this motorcycle is 18650 lithium type with a high voltage of 60V and a capacity of 40Ah. This motorcycle weighs 269 kg with a choice of seats for 1-2 people.


Davigo then started marketing the Forza product at IEMS 2022 at a price of IDR 17.47 million. This motorcycle claims to be able to go at a speed of 50 km per hour and a distance of up to 60 km.


Volta introduced two products with prices under IDR 20 million. The first is Virgo, which has a range of 65 km for one battery and 130 km for two batteries, with a maximum speed of 55 km per hour.

Next is the 401 electric motor with a range of 60 km (one battery) and 120 km (two batteries), with a maximum speed of up to 60 km per hour.

Volta marketed Virgo during IEMS 2022 for Rp. 14 million and 401 for Rp. 12 million dollars.


Segway is a newcomer to the electric motorcycle scene in Indonesia. They have a number of new products in the electric motorcycle segment.

The first is the N90C, launched at a price of 27 million IDR, has a speed of 52 km per hour and a range of 76-94 km; N100 has a price of IDR 34 million with a capacity of 60 km per hour and a range of 70-110 km.

In addition, there is the E110L, which sells for IDR 40 million, has a speed of 62 km per hour, a distance of 70-110 km; and finally the E200P model that sells at IDR 85 million with a capacity of 100 km per hour, and a range of 200 km.


A new product from another local brand, namely Alva One. Alva sold this motorcycle for 34.9 million Rp.

The Alva electric motor can drive up to a maximum speed of 90 km per hour, while the capacity of a fully charged battery can cover a distance of up to 70 km. A fully charged battery lasts four hours.


Electronics company Polytron also started entering the electric motorcycle business with the Fox-R model, which sells for IDR 16.5 million. on the road or without tax (current price IMOS 2022).

This motorcycle is sold without a full battery, which means that consumers must make a lease in the form of a three-year contract equivalent to IDR 9 million.

This motorcycle is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 3kW and a maximum speed of 90 km per hour. The battery has a capacity of 3.7 kWh. The battery is claimed to be charged from zero to 80 percent with a duration of 4 hours and 30 minutes.

This electric motor can go 130 km with one fully charged battery.
