About fifteen activists from Extinction Rébellion and the XR Animal collective went in front of McDonald’s in Mons, on the Grand-Place, this Saturday noon. They wanted to “denounce the responsibility of the multinational in the current ecocide (destruction of the ecosystem and massive damage to nature)”.
The peaceful demonstration planned to stage a crime of ecocide and take over the tables of the fast food restaurant to eat vegetarian meals from noon to 2 p.m. It finally started around 12:15 p.m. and ended half an hour later on police orders.
