In leading the ceremony of the National Sports Award 2020, the head of the federal Executive pointed out that those people who have chronic diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity, are the ones who are suffering the most from the pandemic of coronavirus, which in Mexico already adds more than 100,000 deaths.
“We are in Mexico and in the world waiting for a vaccine to prevent contagion, to prevent this disease. I am sure that this vaccine will soon be available, but also as a lesson that we must gather, faced with this difficult situation, there is the teaching that we must also try to apply the prevention vaccine.
“A good vaccine is the practice of sports, the preventive vaccine, exercising, taking care not to overweight. Who are the ones who are suffering the most from the pandemic? Those who suffer from chronic diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and these diseases can either be prevented or moderated if you have a good diet that are linked to sports habits, such as exercise.
The president pointed out that “if we eat natural products, if we eat healthy, if we avoid drinks or the consumption of junk products, with excess sugars, fats, chemicals. If we take care of our diet, if we nourish ourselves well, if we eat natural foods and if this is complemented with exercise, with sport, we will be able to face this pandemic and any other ”.

The president pointed out that a year ago, his government decided to directly support more than 900 athletes and professional coaches, and that now it has also been agreed to repeat this stimulus directly for athletes who go to the Tokyo Olympic Games, which They were suspended this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We hope that next year these Olympic Games can be held, and that you athletes, women and men who are going to receive this support, will have the resources to continue training to continue preparing.”
He pointed out that this support is not a scholarship that they have to charge month after month, but rather that they are looking for financial support to have the basics in six months or a year and that they are the ones who administer it “that intermediation is not required , the title ”.

This year, it was ruled that the 2020 National Sports Award would be in the non-professional sports modality for the Mexican Women’s Softball Team; for Jessica Salazar Valles, in cycling; and for the divers Yahel Castillo Huerta and Juan Celaya Hernández.
While for professional sports they were winners, the tennis player Renata Zarazúa Ruckstuhl; In Paralympic sport, the winner was Juan Diego García López, an outstanding athlete in taekwondo.

Likewise, the outstanding career in Mexican sport of Fernando Valenzuela Anguamea, considered the best Mexican baseball player by President López Obrador, will be recognized.
