After the covid, the storm: the terrace of Angelo’s restaurant flew to Mons this Friday

“I am a very positive person, but this is the last straw”, Angelo, the owner of the Italian gourmet restaurant, told us Bread and Oil, located in Mons.

And we can understand it. While he has just fitted out a temporary terrace with arbors and lamps, “which only served 2 or 3 evenings”, everything has just flown away. This Friday May 21, “around 4 pm, there were gusts of wind. We had anchored the arbors well, but that was not enough”, confides this chef, a little disillusioned but who keeps a smile in his voice.

It is 2,000 euros, approximately, lost. After a very difficult year, as for all horeca establishments. “I had to reinvent myself, because we are a gourmet restaurant: at the base, it does not lend itself too much to ‘take away’ because the dressing, the temperature of the different ingredients, it is very important“. Angelo is therefore gone “on more traditional Italian cuisine, and it worked, our customers responded”.

Despite this new blow, the restaurant is not going to give up. “It just happened, I don’t know yet what I’m going to do. For this weekend, it seems difficult to me. But we will find a solution: I have a lot of reservations”, concludes this boss who remains on a positive note: “it’s not my type to complain: it’s bad luck, and voila“.
