After weeks of waiting, Warren supports Biden’s candidacy to confront Trump | Univision News US Elections 2020

The senator Elizabeth Warren on Wednesday, he endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden as the Democratic candidate to face President Donald Trump in the November elections.

Since withdrew from the race last MarchWarren had dodged to pin down which applicant he supported, whether Biden or his Vermont colleague Bernie Sanders. But since then, and after a string of bad electoral results, Sanders decided to leave the race and Biden consolidated himself as the virtual candidate of the Democratic Party.

“In this time of crisis, it is more important than ever that the next president restore Americans’ hope for good and effective government, and I have seen Joe Biden help rebuild our nation,” he said in a tweet.

In a call especially for his supporters, some reluctant to support the former vice president, Sanders asked “every Democrat, every independent, many Republicans, to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I support,” Sanders said along in a video broadcast live via the internet together with Biden.
