Riga’s “Dinamo” Continental Hockey League (KHL) away guests spent the first period on Thursday and deserved questionable rejections that prevented them from playing in the match against Moscow’s “Dinamo”, the head coach of Riga “Dinamo” emphasized at the post-match press conference. Peter the Ant.
It has already been reported that in the first match of the fifth away season of Riga “Dinamo” in Moscow with 1: 6 (0: 2, 1: 1, 0: 3) he gave up to the local “Dinamo”.
Zeks Michels scored the only goal for the Rigans, but Dmitrijs Jaškins also added a productive pass to the home team’s “hat-trick”.
“We started the first period very quickly, we didn’t play the hockey we wanted,” Skudra said after the match. “It is clear that Moscow’s Dynamo is a skilled five that we obviously didn’t deal with. And again, our timid game in the first period did not give us a chance to fight for anything more today. ”
The coach says that in the second period there was a moment when the result was only 1: 2, when there was a break during the game and the guests started to perform a little better.
“The scoring moments started to come, but with the dubious rejections we deserve today, they are 16 penalty minutes, and given the majority of Moscow’s Dynamo with such masters today, it is impossible to win.”
Asked about the absence of Denis Parshin in the application, Skudra replied that the team has a large group of guys who were sick all September and October, and the composition of the game is largely determined by physical condition.
“We have players who are trying to regain their form, who have been ill for a long time, and it is not easy for them to train after illness, and Parsins belongs to this group, trying to regain the necessary condition to play in this league,” explained the head coach of Riga.
In addition to Yashkin’s three goals, the hosts had another notable event, as the head coach of Moscow “Dinamo” Vladimir Krikunov repeated the achievement of Vladimir Jurzinov’s elder, winning the 204th victory in the position of the head coach of the Moscow club.
It is significant that both coaches are related to the original Riga “Dinamo”. Krikunov was the defender of Riga “Dinamo” for a long time, but Jurzinov was the head coach of the team for a long time, being at the head of it in the 1987/1988 season, when the people of Riga won medals for the only time in the USSR championship.
“We were in a very good mood to play with the people of Riga. We always have difficult games with them, ”said Krikunov after the game. “It simply came to our notice then. All worked from start to finish. In the third period, guests were deceived by rejections. “
This season, the two clubs had not yet met, because the match scheduled for September 26 had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Later, the Rigans received a technical loss for the missed game.
In total, KHL’s two “Dinamo” teams had met 44 times, of which 20 were superior to Rigans. Last year, the Moscow team won both matches.
The Riga unit went to Moscow on November 18 by tramp. The team led by Peter Skudra will travel on the route Moscow – Yaroslavl – Mitsicchi – Riga. After the match with “Dinamo”, the Riga team will play against Yaroslavl “Lokomotiv” on November 21, but two days later the last away game is expected against the Beijing club, which due to Covid-19 will play home games in Mitišči this season.
Three goalkeepers, ten defenders and 17 attackers went on the field. It is known that the team will not be helped by goalkeeper Proskurjakov, who continues to regain his athletic form, but the health problems have struck the striker Emils Ģegeri. Defender Matthew Mayon also remained in Riga, while Richard Bucharest could soon play his first game in the ranks of “Dinamo”.
Meanwhile, defender Miks Tumanovs and attackers Kārlis Bucenieks, Deniss Fyodorovs, Danila Larionovs, Gustavs Millers, Rūdolfs Polcss, Glebs Prohorenkovs and Patriks Zabusovs have returned to the Russian Youth Hockey League (MHL) unit “Rīga”.
“Dinamo” with ten points in 24 matches is in the last place in the league, but the Moscow unit with 32 points in 26 matches is in the fourth position in the Western zone.
Last season, Dinamo took the penultimate place in the Western Conference and in the entire league, not qualifying for the Gagarin Cup for the sixth year in a row.
Pēteris Skudra went on the fifth trip of the season with the following hockey players:
goalkeepers – Stanislavs Galimovs, Reinis Liepins, Zeins Makintairs;
protectors – Morgans Eliss, Jānis Jaks, Roberts Mamčičs, Jordans Murejs, Ernests Ošenieks, Rīss Skārlets, Kristaps Sotnieks, Tony Sunds, Ondržejs Vitāseks, Kristaps Zīle;
