Apple iPhone 12 vs Samsung Galaxy S20 – No chance yet

Can the brand new Apple iPhone 12 keep up with the slightly older Samsung Galaxy S20? Nope, Apple still doesn’t stand a chance.

Apple announced this week the iPhone 12 series. That’s why now is the time to put the brand new flagships of the two big boys, Apple and Samsung, side by side. Today we check the entry-level models from both manufacturers. At least, we skip the iPhone 12 Mini, because that we already compared with an S20. What remains is a massacre between the iPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy S20.

iPhone 12 vs Samsung Galaxy S20

The iPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy S20 were quite close in terms of release price; € 909 and € 899 respectively. So solid high-end prices. But do you get the same specs back for the same price? If you have been longer comparisons on Apparata, you already know the answer. No, absolutely not.

Samsung delivers with the Galaxy S20 an almost as large screen, but with over 20% more pixels per inch and double the refresh rate. The Galaxy S20 also comes with twice as much RAM, twice as much storage space and twice as many SIM slots as the iPhone 12. The South Korean brand also offers expandable storage space and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

But let’s not put Apple in a bad light too much; last year the iPhone 11 cannot keep up on any level with the S20. This year, Apple has at least increased the charging and wireless charging and the screen has improved a bit. The biggest advantage of the iPhone 12 is also that Apple always gives their latest processor to every device in the series. And the Bionic A14 is yet another powerhouse.

Nevertheless, only one conclusion is possible in this comparison. For about the same price (meanwhile, the S20 is even a lot cheaper) you get a considerably better smartphone in practically every way if you go for the Galaxy S20.
