Arsenal has expressed interest in signing Wolves and Portuguese striker Diogo Jota this summer, reports say.
Jota has thrived in Molineux after his move from Atletico Madrid in 2017, scoring at least ten goals each season since arriving in England.
The Portuguese star was a key part of the Wolves championship winning team in 2017-18 and scored ten goals in his Premier League debut season.
Jota, 23, continued to amaze during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 15 goals to help wolves climb to sixth place in the Premier League and reach the Europa League knockout stages.
Mikel Arteta, who is preparing for his first full season as an Arsenal manager, wants to sign at least one large striker this summer and the Daily Mail claims that Jota is the main target.
Jota scored back-to-back hat-tricks in the Europa League earlier in the season and his form attracted the attention of Arsenal, who are currently ninth in the English top flight.
The head of Arsenal Arteta, who is currently recovering from the coronavirus, has also expressed interest in signing Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.
The Ghanaian midfielder was part of the Atletico team that on Wednesday evening knocked out Premier League leaders Liverpool from the Champions League at Anfield.
In the first transfer window of Arteta to head Arsenal, the Gunners signed the defenders Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares.
Arsenal was due to face Brighton this weekend, but all professional football in England was suspended at least until April due to the coronavirus epidemic.
