Erfurt (dpa / th) – Thuringia made a lot of money last year from the auction of paintings, a gramophone and disused vehicles. Overall, the offers on the Internet platform www.zoll-auktion.de jumped out more than 700,000 euros for the state treasury, the Ministry of Finance announced on Wednesday in Erfurt.
Among other things, 126 government vehicles came under the hammer. There were also items from inheritance. Inherit the land if Thuringians have no heirs or if they turn down the estate. Sometimes real collector’s items are also offered on the platform, according to Finance Minister Heike Taubert (SPD). A viewing of the properties is currently not possible due to the pandemic.
According to the ministry, “Customs Auction” is the public-sector virtual auction house. In addition to customs, other authorities bring seized, attached and discarded items up for auction.
