Minimum objective achieved for the Swiss women’s relay at the World Championships in Anterselva. The sisters Elisa, Selina and Aita Gasparin and Lena Häcki finished sixth in a race won by Norway, ahead of Germany and Ukraine.
However, there was probably room to figure better, throughout an event with many twists and turns mainly due to mistakes on the launch pad. In fact, by finishing about thirty seconds from the podium, the Swiss have made roughly 3 errors too many in front of the targets (11 in total). Without these 3 mistakes, meddling in the fight for a medal would have been possible.
The gentlemen’s relay returned to France. It is ahead of Norway and Germany. Without its leader Benjamin Weger preserved for the Sunday line race, Switzerland finished 15th. The Swiss team was made up of Mario Dolder, Serafin Wiestner, Jérémy Finello and Joscha Burkalter.
