Joe Biden has chosen Susan Rice, a former national security adviser to Barack Obama, to lead the White House’s domestic policy council. Politico writes it.
Rice, a former US ambassador to the UN, had been considered among the candidates for vice president and secretary of state. Given her experience in foreign policy, the appointment appears as a surprise but according to some observers it is partly explained by the fact that it is not subject to confirmation by the Senate, where Rice would encounter strong opposition from the Republicans for her management of the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi in 2012.
