Frederico Pizzarotti revealed an unexpected help he received last Friday. A group of Togolese immigrants decided to donate € 510 to hospitals in Parma to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
A situation that touched the mayor. “It’s all they have, but it’s worth more than all the gold in the world. Thank you », wrote Pizzarotti on social networks.
The group also left a letter with the donation.
«Hello our dear Italy, a country of peace that welcomed us, adopted us and saved our lives.
Today you are in crisis against an invisible enemy. We do not have the strength to fight this pandemic, but we know that the good of Italy is our good and that the evil of Italy is our evil. That is why we, a dozen Togolese migrants from Parma, decided to express our pain, with a contribution to help in the fight against the new coronavirus.
We also take the opportunity to wish a quick cure to all patients and wish the most sincere condolences to all who have lost family members.
Strength Italy! Long live Italy! Together we can do it. »
