Director Joss Whedon brings back a new generation of vampire slayers with an upcoming reboot of Buffy Against the Vampires – and this time the series will see a black actress take the lead role. In collaboration with Fox 21 TV Studios, Whedon will serve as executive producer of the project, while Monica Owusu-Breen will be showrunner and editor-in-chief, according to Deadline. The script has not been written yet, but Fox plans to launch the reboot on cable and streaming networks this summer.
