The first major cleanup will take place on Saturday 31 July. Anyone who comes to help will receive a grab, garbage bags and gloves. The municipalities on the Meuse would rather organize a major clean-up campaign themselves and also call on people not to pick up litter along the Meuse on their own. This has to do with safety, among other things, because in some places you can easily fall into the Maas from the bank. During the clean-up operation, the security services will in any case be nearby.
If you want to help, you must register. More information about the clean-up campaigns in Maaseik, Lanaken, Dilsen-Stokkem and Maasmechelen can be found by clicking on the municipality.
