Calviño confirms that it will revise growth forecasts for this year, despite the German break

The Minister of Economy and Business, Nadia Calviño, reiterated this Wednesday during an interview granted to RNE the will of the Executive to revise upward its growth forecasts for the whole of 2019, although today it has been known that Germany contracted one tenth in the second quarter.

Calviño has argued that "Spain has been growing very robustly, with rates twice the average of the euro zone and above our partners." Along the same lines, he has argued that "Spain is weathering this situation of international uncertainty better than other countries" and that "it has a better situation for the coming months."

However, he has recognized that there are elements that could affect the economy such as the trade war between the United States and China or the evolution of countries such as Germany. "It can have a potentially negative impact," said Calviño, who has insisted on the need for a government that can deal with pending reforms.

Along these lines, he added that "we cannot entrust the welfare of the country only to the economic cycle," concluded the head of Economy, who has criticized the "anomaly" that in his opinion represents the position of Citizens not to facilitate the investiture of Sánchez. [TagsToTranslate] calvino
