Atletico Madrid mourns one of his greatest talents. Youth player Christian Minchola died at the age of only 14. There is great dismay, the association is silent on the cause of death.

As the Spanish football club announced on Saturday on its website, in honor of the promising young striker, who played in Atletico’s youth system in his sixth season, the flags should be set at half mast.
“We are shocked by the sad news of our player’s death and deeply regret the loss,” wrote Club President Enrique Cerezo, expressing his condolences to the relatives.
The cause of death is open
“Atlético de Madrid and the entire sporting family will be at Christian’s family and friends’ side in these moments of immense pain,” continued Cerezo.
It is still unclear what the young striker died from. The club from the Primera Division did not reveal the cause of death. Various Spanish sports media are now reporting that Minchola’s death was not connected to the coronavirus pandemic.
Koke, Atletico’s captain and himself trained in the club’s youth, tweeted: “Anger and pain to say goodbye to Christian Minchola. Life is not fair.”
Diego Simeone, the first team coach, also expressed his sadness on Twitter: “I would like to express my condolences to Christian’s family and friends with all my heart. Rest in peace.”
