Claudio Pizarro is now part of the Bayern family again.
The long-time Peruvian Bundesliga striker is returning to FC Bayern after his resignation in the summer and will henceforth work as an ambassador. In his new role, Pizarro will help “carry the name, tradition and values of FC Bayern into the world”, the Munich-based company said. The 41-year-old joins the ranks consisting of the ex-professionals Giovane Élber, Lothar Matthäus and Bixente Lizarazu, who are already working as ambassadors for Munich. Pizarro will also become an integral part of the FC Bayern Legends squad.
The crowd favorite is looking forward to the new task: “I am very happy to return to FC Bayern as an ambassador. It’s a dream to be back in Munich. FC Bayern is always referred to as a family, and that’s exactly how it feels. In my new role I will give everything for this club again – as I used to as a player. “
