Colorado avalanches await an update on Nathan MacKinnon’s injury

The impoverished Colorado avalanche suffered another blow to their formation on Monday evening when onwards Nathan MacKinnon left during the second period of the team’s 3-1 defeat against the Los Angeles Kings with a lower body injury.

“Leave the game, I worry right away,” said avalanche coach Jared Bednar. “I know he wasn’t good enough to get back into the game tonight, so yes, I’d say it’s worrying.”

The MVP candidate’s injury is the latest blow to a team that is already without attackers Mikko Rantanen (shoulder), Nazem Kadri (leg), Andre Burakovsky (lower body) e Matt Calvert (lower body). The team is also without a defender Cale Makar (upper body) and goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer (lower body).

The 24-year-old leads the avalanche with 35 goals and 58 assists in 69 games.
