Corona: Thuringia has the lead nationwide when it comes to first vaccinations

According to the state government, Thuringia currently has the highest corona vaccination rate in all of Germany. As Health Minister Heike Werner announced, four percent of the population has now been vaccinated at least for the first time. “We are happy that our strategy has worked,” said Werner on Tuesday.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), there is no nationwide uniform system for collecting vaccination data. In order to be able to assess the situation nonetheless, samples would be used. As of February 16, 2021, Thuringia is ahead of the first vaccination rate with four percent, followed by Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (3.9 percent). The nationwide third place is shared by Bavaria, Bremen, Hamburg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein with 3.7 percent.
