The number of coronavirus infections in 4 million Croatia in 24 hours, it was 1131, the country’s sanitary authorities said on Friday. In the past 10 days, the number of new cases has increased from 300 per day to 793 on Thursday.
In total, there have been 23,665 cases of coronavirus in Croatia. 345 people have died so far. Currently 4,233 people are infected; in recent days their number has doubled. There are 505 people in hospitals, 24 of whom are in intensive care under ventilators.

The newspaper reminds that the daily number of infected and hospitalized is increasing dramaticallyand the government has come up with no specific plan to combat the epidemic.
However, in a country whose economy is heavily dependent on tourism, measures have been tightened this week to slow the spread of the virus. An order to wear masks in public places has been introduced, the number of customers allowed in restaurants and bars has been reduced by limiting their working hours to midnight. Public assemblies were limited to 50 people.
In neighboring Slovenia, the number of infected people rose to a record 834 in the last 24 hours. The first record was broken a day earlier – 735 infected. In total, there were over 11 thousand. coronavirus infections; 180 people died. The country has been in place more stringent measures since Friday, which include the partial closure of seven of the 12 Slovenian regions, which are home to around half of the country’s 2 million population.
Bosnia and Herzegovina also recorded a record increase in the number of new coronavurus infections. In the country with 3.3 million inhabitants, 621 people arrived in the last 24 hours. In total, 980 people died.
In Serbia, with a population of 7 million, a total of 35,719 cases were registered, including 265 in the last 24 hours. The number of deaths increased by two during that time – to 772.
Radio B-92 announced on Friday that a decision was made at a meeting of the crisis team to tighten measures in the fight against the coronavirus. Dr. Darija Kisić Tepavczević from the staff assessed that general measures have been effective – physical distance and wearing masks. – These are basic life saving measures. All the others that are applied in terms of operational restrictions or other restrictions are aimed at a tighter application of existing measures, she said.
Restaurants and bars in Serbia are working as before, until 23, but an order was introduced to wear masks that can only be removed while eating.
