A series of eSport matches that have been moved from China to South Korea after a coronavirus outbreak have been postponed as Covid-19 relapses continue.
Three Overwatch League (OWL) games were transferred from China’s cities to Seoul, while the city was expected to host home dynasty matches in March.
These were all postponed after a sharp increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in South Korea.
The league said: “In order to protect the health and safety of our players, fans and staff, we are canceling plans to host OWL 2020 matches in South Korea in weeks 5, 6 and 7, including the event in Seoul dynasty home.

“We will share more information on when and where the matches will take place later.”
South Korea reported 161 other virus cases in Daegu city, bringing the nation’s total to 763 cases and seven confirmed deaths since the outbreak.
This is the first year for OWL’s unprecedented global program, including host games for its 20 city-based franchises in Asia, North America and Europe.
The Dynasty is the only franchise based in South Korea obsessed with esports.
The team had planned to host the games between 7 and 22 March at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza and the next OWL games scheduled in Seoul are from 9 to 10 May.
