Adviser – The Corona virus: Lung disease has been on everyone’s lips for weeks, but what distinguishes it from the flu?
The fact is: both are respiratory diseases caused by a virus. The pathogens are transmitted through direct contact, by speaking or coughing.
However, there are differences in the course of the infections. While some infected people remain without symptoms, it can be a very difficult time for some.
There has been a vaccine against the flu for years. Not so with Covid-19. There is no vaccination or medication for this disease.
Coronavirus patients are treated symptomatically, including with means to lower the fever.
Protection can above all be protected by hygiene measures – such as regular hand washing. Contact with other people should also be reduced or prevented.
