Coronavirus today. WHO, with Omicron plausible end of the pandemic in Europe

Mortality rate over 60 drops from 10 to 1% thanks to vaccines

The death rate among people over 60 who have contracted Covid collapses, all thanks to vaccines. This was announced by Senior Italia FederAnziani, whose study center analyzed the latest data from the Istituto Superiore di Sanità. “Unfortunately, too many seniors continue to die from the Coronavirus (3,921 deaths over 60 in the last month) but fortunately there is a new data that comforts us and that misleads the no vax”, comments the president, Roberto Messina . As of December 14, according to the ISS bulletin, the total deaths caused by the pandemic were 134,463, of which 127,837 were over 60, equal to 95.07% of the total. Today the total number of deaths has risen to 138,645, of which 131,758 over 60, with 3,921 deaths among seniors in the last month. The important data is that the vaccination courses have led to a considerable improvement in the situation: in the thirty days that have just passed, the mortality rate (deceased / infected) of seniors was 1.19%, against a figure from the beginning of the pandemic to half December 2021 of 9.56%. A decline certainly determined by the expansion of vaccinations. Today the percentage of vaccinated with 3 doses over 60 is 74.9% of the population, with two it is 87.8%, with only one it is 5.5%.
9.5% of the population in this age group have not yet been vaccinated (nor cured), distributed as follows: 13.6% of the population aged between 60 and 69, 9.4% between between 70 and 79, and 3.5% between 80 and 89.
