Danone Indonesia Presents My Plate Contents Festival


Jakarta, Gatra.with– In commemoration of National Nutrition Day, Danone Indonesia has started holding the My Plate Contents Festival for children aged 4-6 years online. Titled “Building a Healthy Generation through Education on Balanced Nutrition from an Early Age”, this festival invites thousands of Indonesian teachers and children. “For us, education like this is important because the pandemic has affected many sectors of people’s lives, including the education sector,” said Director of Sustainable Development Danone Indonesia, Karyanto Wibowo in his virtual press conference, Friday (26/2). Danone Indonesia presents the My Plate Contents Festival for children aged 4-6 years to answer the challenges faced by parents and PAUD teachers in getting used to eating food according to balanced nutrition in children. Previously, Danone Indonesia in collaboration with the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) – Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) has compiled and produced an educational book “The Contents of My Plate” as a guideline for PAUD teachers to educate one-time eating and drinking for children aged 4-6 years. in 2017. The contents of my plate consist of a combination of 50% fruit and vegetables, and 50% carbohydrates and protein. With a third division of side dishes and two thirds of carbohydrates. These healthy eating guidelines not only make you full, but also ensure that your body is healthy and well nourished. Since 2018-2020, Danone Indonesia has succeeded in disseminating the Guide to My Plate Contents which has reached 2,746 PAUD, 6,377 teachers, 75,915 parents and, 81,162 students. “In the future, we will continue to be committed to carrying out various initiatives and programs that can support the government’s efforts to reduce stuting rates and produce Indonesian children as qualified human resources,” said Karyanto. Main Expert, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Harris Iskandar, Ph.D., Widya Prada said, health and fulfillment of balanced nutrition have an important role in supporting the quality of children’s education at an early age. “Like in early childhood education, especially in the distance learning period (PJJ),” he said. The existence of a nutrition guide for the contents of my plate can be a solution to educating the public regarding the rules for portions and what types of food are needed by your little one. “Therefore, we really appreciate all the efforts of the private sector in providing positive education for Indonesian children for the fulfillment of balanced nutrition so that the teaching and learning process can run well,” he explained. The head of the 4-6 year old team compiling my plate contents from the Department of Public Nutrition, Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) – Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Anna Marliyati, MSi. said, there are several challenges faced by parents and PAUD teachers in getting used to food consumption according to balanced nutrition in children. Especially during a pandemic where children quickly feel bored at home. “The book that has been developed jointly by IPB and Danone Indonesia is expected to be a guide for parents and PAUD teachers to meet the needs of balanced nutrition at home for children,” he said.
