The team of the Moscow region “Vitjaz” represented by Daugaviņš beat the Omsk “Avangard” team with the result 4: 3 (2: 0, 1: 2, 1: 1), the head coach of which is the Latvian national teammate Bob Hartlijs.
With a productive pass, Daugaviņš stood out at the very beginning of the second period, helping the team to realize the numerical majority. Vitjaz won 3-0 at the time.
Canadian Justin Denfort scored two goals for the winners. He was punctual in the middle of the third period, achieving a 4: 2 lead for the Vitjaz team.
Daugaviņš spent 22 minutes on the field, which was the biggest playing time in the “Vitjz” team. He won only two of the seven throws.
The 32-year-old Daugaviņš has scored 10 goals and made 20 assists in 34 matches this season.
Vitjaz ranks 9th in the Western Conference tournament table with 37 points, while Avangard ranks second in the East with 49 points.
In another game, goalkeeper Jānis Kalniņš remained in reserve, while his representative Helsinki “Jokerit” guests with 1: 4 (0: 2, 0: 0, 1: 2) acknowledged the superiority of Kazan “Ak Bars”.
“Ak Bars” threw 37 times into Anders Lindbeck’s goal, but the home side threw the fourth puck into the empty away goal.
“Jokerit” with 39 points in 30 battles is the eighth strongest team in the Western Conference, while “Ak Bars” with 58 points in 38 duels can be found in the leading position of the Eastern Conference.
