Down on leading Asian stock exchanges

Asia’s leading stock markets end the week with falling prices.

In the Olympic city of Tokyo, investors are concerned about the increased spread of the coronavirus. The Nikkei225 index fell 1.7 percent on the last trading day of the week and the broader Topix index fell 1.4 percent.

The Hong Kong stock market has had a swaying week and after yesterday’s rise, the Hang Seng index falls again, down 2.1 percent in afternoon trading.

The Shanghai Composite Index is down 0.6 percent.

Taiwan’s Weighted Index fell 0.9 percent.

The Seoul Stock Exchange’s Kospi index fell 1.1 percent.
