(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 09 – The passage of space debris on the trajectory that affected a large part of central-southern Italy has occurred without impact and therefore only one trajectory remains that could still involve some sectors of Sardinia, Calabria and Sicily. However, “the probability that one or more fragments could fall on our territory remains extremely low”. This was announced by the technical panel of the Civil Protection Department that is following the uncontrolled return to the atmosphere of the Chinese space launcher “Lunga marcia 5B” on the basis of data provided by the Italian Spa Agency.
The return window to Earth is until 7 am Italian time. The technical table will continue to follow the evolution of the situation in real time. (HANDLE).
