Algeria's Mehdi Abeid (free) and Malian Molla Wague (Udinese) could soon strengthen FC Nantes. An agreement was found with Udinese and the second named. The return of Chidozie Awaziem can not be excluded either.
FC Nantes is doing very well on the dossiers Mehdi Abeid and Molla Wague. The Algerian midfielder (26), qualified for the quarter finals of the African Cup of Nations (CAN), is free and very motivated to join the Yellow House. The transfer could end right after the Fennecs' journey to Egypt.
Mehdi Abeid knows very well Ligue 1 since he played with Dijon since 2016. He took part in 77 games and scored six goals. Before arriving in Burgundy, the Lens-trained player made the rounds between Newcastle (21 matches), St-Johnstone in Scotland (13 games) and Panathinaikos in Greece (72 games).
In addition, an agreement was found with Molla Wague (28) and Udinese. The central defender of Mali will therefore join (subject to the medical visit) FC Nantes, where a four-year contract awaits. The deal with Udinese is estimated at 1.5 M €. The player trained in Caen has achieved a good CAN with the Eagles, eliminated last night by Ivory Coast in the 8th finals (0-1).
Awaziem soon back?
In Normandy, Molla Wague has essentially known League 2. Since leaving SM Caen in 2014, the Malian has had various experiences in Grenada, Leicester, Watford and Udinese. He played in Nottingham Forest (English D2) since January 2019. Since 2016, he has played only 26 matches.
In addition, the Yellow and Green are still working on the Nigerian track, Chidozie Awaziem. The central defender, loaned last winter by Porto to Rizespor (Turkey), could certainly return to FCN, where he had evolved into a loan in 2017-2018. He had played 23 matches and scored once for the Canaries.
