Al-Ahly does not see a reason for what he sees as the “insertion of his name on the sidelines of negotiations to renew Zamalek with his stars Ferjani Sassi and Youssef Ibrahim (Obama),” according to a source inside the club.
The source said to FilGoal.com: “Everything that is said about our contact with Sassi or Obama is no more, no less, media diligence.”
He stressed, “There is no direct contact with any of the players.”
“The coaching staff did not place the players on the bases of his interests and priorities in supporting the team, so my family has nothing to do with them,” he added.
He concluded, “We do not know the reason for inserting Al-Ahly’s name on the sidelines of those negotiations.”
Sassi and Obama’s contract with Zamalek ends in the summer of 2021.
Sassi moved to Zamalek from the Saudi victory in the summer of 2018, and with the team he lifted the Egyptian Cup, the Egyptian Super, the African Cup and the African Confederation, next to the Egyptian Saudi Super.
Obama, a rookie from the Zamalek junior, scored 20 goals and made 17 goals in 120 appearances for the white jersey.
