Majid Sami, owner of Wadi Degla, announced the end of his journey with the club after a journey that lasted 18 years.
Majid Sami wrote on his official Facebook page: “Because every beginning has an end, I announce today that the journey of 18 years of struggle has ended.”
“Farewell, Tigris Valley.”
The first season for Degla in the Egyptian League was the 2010-11 season.
The Tigris has not relegated since his first arrival in the Egyptian League, and he ranked fifth twice during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons as his best position in the league.
The Tigris League ended last season in 15th place to escape relegation after collecting 35 points.
For his part, Wadi Degla Club explained, “The Wadi Degla Clubs Company is the owned company of Wadi Degla Holding, which is an Egyptian joint stock company with more than 200 shareholders.”
He added, “Majid Sami is one of the founders and shareholders who worked hard to serve this entity and worked hard over the past years to separate ownership from management and bring the necessary competencies to manage the system and achieve its goals and provide the independence and freedom necessary to conduct their business and reach specific results.”
The club stressed, “The administrative structure of the company and the clubs has remained unchanged during the past three years, and the company’s vision, plans and future strategy for its expansions and projects remain as they are in accordance with the previously announced plans according to the current administrative structure without any change.”
