Following the quarantine imposed on 45 people from the club, FC Sion has requested the postponement of its next two Super League matches. The SFL granted this request.
Through a press release, FC Sion announces that the cantonal doctor confirmed this Thursday the quarantine of 45 people linked to the club (players, technical staff, medical staff and housekeepers) following several positive tests for coronavirus performed on Tuesday.
The Valais Council of State having moreover banned the presence of spectators in professional sports arenas until November 30, FC Sion asked the Swiss Football League to postpone the game against Servette FC, scheduled for Sunday, to the month in December and the one facing Lucerne, scheduled for November 1, during the month of November. A request to which the SFL decided to accede. However, the League has not yet ruled on the third request from Sedun: a Sion – FC Zurich on November 22 in Valais which would ultimately be played at Letzigrund.
Second subscription offered
In addition, the Valais club has revealed that it will make a gesture in favor of the faithful of Tourbillon. “Compared to our supporters who have shown great loyalty and solidarity with the club by subscribing to a subscription before Wednesday October 21, FC Sion has decided to offer a second subscription for the season 2020/2021 on request. This will be valid as soon as the spectators return to the stadium ”, we can read in the press release.
FC Sion will only be able to resume training on Saturday 31 October.
