Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott has announced his retirement at 34

The former England international Theo Walcottthe famous former face of Arsenal (2006-2018) under the tenure of Arsène Wenger, announced this Friday the end of his football career, at 34 years old and after a recent freelance at Southampton, his training club.

The game winger, renowned for his burst of pace, has been a delight for the Gunners for most of his career. He also wore the Everton shirt (2018-2020) before returning to Southampton Saints for the last three seasons.

The support they have received over the years has been amazing in every way imaginable and I am truly grateful“, he wrote in a message on Instagram where he announced the news.

The former Three Lions striker (47 caps, 8 goals), a precocious talent, made his international debut in May 2006 against Hungary, becoming England’s youngest player at 17 years and 75 days.

nonetheless, his career was disrupted by injuries and he ended it in relegation with Southampton.
