Former Lubango municipal administrator arrested

Silvano Levi is accused of involvement in the crime of embezzlement and criminal association. The former manager held the position of municipal administrator of Lubango for three years (2012-2014), having been appointed by the then provincial governor of Huíla, Isaac dos Anjos, to replace Manuel Capenda.

The citizen was interrogated for four hours in the SIC and was no longer released, having been taken to the Lubango penitentiary.

According to SIC spokesman Sebastião Vika, quoted by Angop, the arrest of the former administrator is the result of an investigation that has been ongoing for more than four years, with the investigation process determined that there are indications of Silvano Levi’s alleged involvement in crimes embezzlement and criminal association.

Without giving details of the damage caused to the State, Sebastião Vika informed that criminal investigation procedures are taking place regarding acts of corruption.

Recently, the regional coordinator of the Attorney General’s Office, Hernâni Beira Grande, when presenting the new local prosecutor, said that more than 50 criminal cases involving managers of the province are under investigation.
