Get Free Vaccine from USA, Indonesian Minister of Health Says Thank You to Kamala Harris

Winnetnews.com – Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said goodbye in the middle of a limited meeting with Commission IX of the DPR RI. He claimed to be holding a virtual conference with the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.

According to the Minister of Health, the US was not willing to send vaccines COVID-19 via the COVAX-GAVI route. However, thanks to the lobbying process and timely work from the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM), the US is willing to send an additional five million doses.

According to him, today’s virtual meeting with Kamala Harris will be a moment of gratitude. Remember, modern vaccines and Pfizer obtained by RI from the US is a free donation.

“This is your permission, ladies and gentlemen, because coincidentally the US did not want to donate through COVAX-GAVI, but we managed to lobby and yesterday they sent (vaccines) 3 million Moderna. But on condition that it must be processed within two days. So I thank you, Mrs. Penny (Head of BPOM), we will process it for a day,” said the Minister of Health in a virtual meeting broadcast, Wednesday (25/8/2021).

“So they were rather impressed, and they sent another 5 million. We took care of it quickly and yesterday we were only given about 4.8 million Pfizer and it was free. So the first 3 million are free, the next 5 million are free Moderna, and we get 4.8 million Pfizer,” he continued.

Before leaving the room, the Minister of Health stated that he wanted to request an additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from the US on the occasion of this meeting.

“So on this occasion he happened to invite, I want to say thank you and ask for 10 million who knows later it will be given,” he concluded with a laugh before leaving the room.
