Having obtained No. 1 in the 2020 Draft, everything pointed to the choice of Anthony Edwards in the Golden State Warriors. However, by reaping second place, the future plans would take another direction in the Oakland franchise.
According to media sources The Ringer, the Warriors are looking to reinforce the outside positions (forward and four wide), and are considering dropping positions in the rookie draw. Since the aforementioned Edwards is unlikely to arrive, rumors point to the young Deni Avdija, trained at Maccabi in Tel Aviv.
“Everything is on the table regarding the Warriors and this pick. They could stay as they are, trade lower or move entirely, “admitted journalist Kevin O’Connor.
Avdija, just 19 years old, has averaged 4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 14.3 minutes in 26 official Euroleague 2019-20 games.
The 2020 Draft analysts place point guard LaMelo Ball as possible number 2. There is also talk of James Wiseman, of Memphis, or perhaps a raise of Isaac Okoro.
