Around 1,150 people participated on Saturday at the seventh Solidarity Sports Day, organized by the City Council of Calonge and Sant Antoni. The day, which housed various sports disciplines, allocated two euros of each inscription to the STOP-FA Foundation, which investigates the care of Friedreich Ataxia, a rare neurodegenerative disease suffered by a neighbor of the municipality, Mireia Gómez.
The Day began with the Swimming Crossing, which involved about 220 people. He won the victory with Clàudia Giralt with a time of 25:43, and it was the first time in the history of the test that in the absolute race a woman is imposed. The podium was completed by Javier Navarro (27:33) and Sergi Matas (27:39). In the afternoon, the athletic trials began to be played, with special protagonism of the Mile (1,609 meters). 268 athletes joined the improvised track of the Josep Mundet promenade. In the absolute masculine category, Jordi Garcia won, with a time of 4:28, followed by Àngel Mullera (4:29) and Roger Manyà (4:41). Regarding the female race, Carla Domínguez (5:28), who overcame Irene Rubio (6:07) and Cristina Rovira (6:07), won.
The Mille Beer and an eight-kilometer night walk that brought together 350 people, the Night Run, closed the Day.
