Significant quantities of alcoholic beverages consisting of 20,868 bottles of red wine and nearly 850 cans of beer were destroyed on Tuesday in Had Soualem (suburb of Casablanca), after their seizure in control operations in several cities, announced the head of the National Judicial Police Brigade (BNPJ), Comptroller General Hicham Baâli.

Carried out by the BNPJ units in coordination with the judicial police services of Casablanca, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Oued-Zem and Fez, these operations targeted, on September 4, deposits of alcoholic beverages in the aforementioned towns, making it possible to reveal a number of offenses in terms of customs duties and taxation, he explained.
The raids, conducted in collaboration with the customs and indirect tax services, ONSSA and the territorial authorities, also resulted in the seizure of quantities of expired alcohol, mainly red wine, due to their storage in contrary conditions. food safety standards, continued Mr. Baâli.
