Maxi Biancucci, Messi’s cousin, told the Argentinian newspaper (Ole) that the top scorer for Barca and the historic Spanish League had a lot of doubts about returning to play in his country due to the “absence of safety”, which could dampen the dreams of Newell’s fans of the Old Boys in regaining him in the future.
“Leo loves Argentina, it is about safety. If it is safe, he will not hesitate to return,” added Biancucci, a former player for Argentine Cruz Azul and now a players agent.
He continued: “I dream of Messi returning to Newell’s, but this is a complicated matter. Imagine if Messi plays the Classico here, the city will turn into hell,” as riots spread in the Argentine League matches continuously.
Messi recently denied press speculation that he would return to Argentina and play for Newell’s due to the Corona pandemic, and he also denied rumors of his transfer to Italian Inter Milan, but he does not fully guarantee his continuation in Catalonia as well, in light of the current disputes with his club management.
