Wolfsburg (dpa) – With a few exceptions, the Wolfsburg Clinic no longer accepts new patients due to corona infections among its employees. These will be distributed to surrounding hospitals, as the city announced on Sunday. The emergency department of the children’s clinic and the delivery room are excluded from this, as a first “intensive analysis of the situation” showed later on Sunday evening. Previously, it was also said that visits are no longer permitted, “not even the previous exceptions”. The city is struggling with the coronavirus pandemic – a total of 15 people died in a Wolfsburg old people’s home and nursing home after a Covid 19 disease.
Similar to the home where the majority of people with dementia live, the precautionary measures are also tightened in the clinic. The entire hospital staff “now work in full protection,” the city said: “The patients are distributed in such a way that there is only one patient per room.” The next steps will be decided when the test results of staff and patients are available, which are expected for Monday evening.
