Neither the US State Department nor the CDC have upgraded the UK to “Level Four”, urging Americans that they should avoid traveling there.

Meanwhile, the US State Department is more assertive in providing advice to US citizens. “Don’t travel to the UK because of Covid-19,” the ministry said, as reported by Channel News Asia on Tuesday (20/7/2021).
The US announcement comes just hours after the UK lifted all restrictions related to Covid-19, regardless of the daily number of cases.
Covid-19 cases are rising by more than 50,000 per day in the UK and hundreds of thousands of Britons have been asked to self-isolate for 10 days. Also read: Covid-19 is not over, England is haunted by the Norovirus outbreak
Britons are now allowed to visit theatres, concert venues and nightclubs. Sports stadiums will hold full capacity and government recommendations to work from home have been cancelled, along with the mandatory wearing of masks in crowded places. All hospitality venues have returned to full capacity.
The UK government has only left non-mandatory recommendations to wear face masks in crowded places, minimize social contact, carry out regular Covid-19 tests in high-risk workplaces.
