Oaxaca de Juárez.— The Oaxaca Medical Arbitration Commission (Ceamo) reported an increase in complaints of citizens against health care in the public sector, in the period from 2006 to December 31, 2019.
When presenting its annual report for 2019, it specified that since 2006, when this Commission began operations, the behavior has been on the rise in terms of the care granted, with the demand for care in 2019 being 3.8 times higher, with 906 care , compared to the year of beginning of operations with 239 attentions.
From January 1 to December 31, 2019, he detailed, the Ceamo It provided 906 attentions, of which 97% were requested directly from users and 3% requested by another instance such as authorities of the judiciary, of the Human Rights order, among others, keeping constant the behavior of the resolution modality from the previous year.
As the first modality of attention provided, there is guidance with 365 cases (40%), nonconformities attended in second place, the modality of specialized advice with 358 (39%), and 8% were attended through immediate management.
4.9% of the disagreements were already admitted as complaints, and 19 technical opinions were issued in specific cases.
According to the reason that originated the complaint, surgical and medical treatments concentrate 63% of them, 31 complaints were for medical treatment and 26 for surgical treatment.
Of the totality of complaints attended to, the specialty of gynecology and obstetrics had the highest concentration of cases with 140 (15.5%), followed by the specialty of traumatology and orthopedics with 91 cases (10%), general medicine 83 (9.2%), surgery general 80 (8.8%) and administration with 80 cases (8.8%). The predominance of surgical specialties is maintained.
However, he reported that in 2019 it was striking that general medicine appears on the scene for the first time. And it is also mentioned that the branches with the greatest number of services also correspond to those that generate the highest productivity.
