In the Riga region, two pedestrians and four cyclists have been injured in road traffic accidents

On Monday, 127 road traffic accidents were registered in Latvia, in which 19 people were injured, including four pedestrians and four cyclists, the State Police informed LETA.

12 people have been injured in road accidents in the Riga region, including two pedestrians and four cyclists. Three people were injured in accidents in Vidzeme, two in Zemgale, but one each in Kurzeme and Latgale.

On Monday, the police detained nine drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, three of them in Zemgale, two each in Riga and Latgale, and one each in Vidzeme and Kurzeme.

146 protocols have been drawn up for speeding drivers. In the vicinity of Riga, 49 drivers have been fined for violating the permitted driving speed, in Zemgale – 43, in Kurzeme – 22, in Latgale – 17, but in Vidzeme – 15. In total, the police drew up 296 reports on violations of traffic rules on Monday.
