The Renault group’s Dacia car plant in Mioveni, Romania, will now only produce more expensive models and the Logan which is its best-selling low-cost car on the Romanian market.
According to the British automotive site “ just-auto.com“Renault has decided that the third generation of Sandero will be produced exclusively in Morocco, where other Dacia models are produced while the more expensive Sandero Stepway will continue to be built in Mioveni.
The same source noted that this is the first time that Renault has transferred the full production of a Mioveni model to its Moroccan factories in Tangier and Somaca.
Dacia started producing the Lodgy and Dokker in Morocco in 2012, as well as the Logan sedan before later launching production of the Sandero and Logan MCV in both Morocco and Romania.
The Romanian factory will continue to produce the Duster models, which account for over 70% of the brand’s sales, as well as the Logans and the Sandero Stepway.
