US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo accused Iran of inciting terror during the coronavirus pandemic. He stated this during a speech in Jerusalem, reports TASS.
He emphasized that the US campaign to reduce the capabilities of the Iranian regime is “bearing fruit.” Pompeo said that despite this, Tehran continues to act as an aggressor. “Even during a pandemic, Iran uses the resources of the Ayatollah regime to incite terror around the world. And this happens at a time when the Iranian people are suffering tremendously, ”said the Secretary of State.
He added that Israel is a good partner who shares information, unlike another country that is trying to hide it. Pompeo probably alludes to China, which has repeatedly been accused of hiding data on coronavirus.
On May 3, US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo said there is evidence in Washington that a new coronavirus has begun to spread from a laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan. However, he then added that he was familiar with the statements of scientists about the natural origin of the virus, based on DNA analysis, and he did not doubt their accuracy. After that, he refrained from answering the question whether the spread of the infection was intentional or related to a certain incident.
