Is Fortnite still taking inspiration from fellow Royale Apex Legends?

The Battle Royale concept has been one of the most popular video game genres since 2015-2016. It started with games like Weapon 3 is H1Z1: King of the Kill, but once titles like PUBG is Fortnite released, the battle royale skyrocketed to the top. While PUBG it is still a bit around, it seems as if Fortnite and another game, Apex Legends, reign supreme from now.

Apex Legends released in 2019 with great critical acclaim, just like Fortnite made in 2017. However, although Fortnite it’s the biggest game and it’s been around for a long time, it seems that Epic Games developers are paying close attention ApiceFeatures.

Fortnite that mimics the mechanics of Apex Legends

In April last year, we saw an update in Fortnite who introduced the Reboot Van. This allowed players to take an eliminated teammate regeneration card and deliver it to the van where dead players could be brought back into play.

Apex Legends Respawn

Apex Legends was the first battle royale to introduce Respawn Beacons in 2019.

Of course, we know that Epic Games didn’t have this idea alone. Apex Legends, released in February of the same year, launched with the Respawn Beacon, which acts in the same way as the Reboot Van. when Apex Legends launched, this was one of the many features that fans praised.

Now, in 2020, it looks like more than Apex Legends‘Mechanics are copied from Epic Games. Clearly, the developers appreciate what Respawn is implementing in its battle royale. Reddit user evangoose25 has the screenshot to prove it.

They did it again???????????? by apexlegends

Of course, in season 3 of Apex Legends, Respawn introduced the open stores with the store keys. Vault contain a high level loot, which makes the keys extremely sought after. In Fortnite Season 2, Epic Games has implemented the Vault which are opened with the keycards released by various NPC bosses.

It is no coincidence that these features are coming Fortnite after they were released Apex Legends. Epic Games has probably created the biggest game on the planet, but that doesn’t mean it can’t draw inspiration from a successful competitor.

The way you look at it is up to you, but it’s not a crime to imitate competition. After all, the battle royale genre is inundated with titles that all took inspiration from the games released before them.
