Joe Gomez faces up to six weeks after the leg fracture

Joe Gomez is expected to face six weeks of play after fracturing his lower leg during Liverpool's 3-1 win over Burnley.

The Reds star was injured in a challenge against Clarets defender Ben Mee and was forced to leave the match after only 23 minutes of play, ahead of Turf Moor.

The center back was detached on a stretcher while Jurgen Klopp and Sean Dyche clashed on the sideline.

Gomez, who was pictured today with crutches while he was going to get his leg scanned, is about to miss the whole holiday season.

The injury is a huge setback for Liverpool in its quest to win the Premier League title this season.

Gomez has also been deployed as a right-back this season – as he was in the shock of the Champions League against PSG – in Liverpool – and will be a huge miss for this crucial period of the club.
