He had spent 45 days in the ICU of the La Fe hospital in Valencia and a few weeks ago he regretted his refusal to be inoculated

Former Valencian driver Jorge Lis, runner-up in Spain in 125 cc in 1996, died this Tuesday at the age of 46 due to the damage caused by covid-19, after being admitted for more than 45 days in the ICU of Hospital La Fe de Valencia.

After retiring from the world of motorcycles, Jorge Lis worked as a ‘coach’, audiobook editor and returned to the circuits as a manager of young riders such as Bernat Martínez and Steven Odendaal in the Superbike World Championship.

The case of Jorge Lis jumped to the media after his sister Elena published in the newspaper Levante the experience of the former pilot with covid-19, and revealed that he refused to be vaccinated following denialist theories about the effects of immunization.
