The event to mark the release of a three millionth V-shaped eight-cylinder diesel engine took place at the KamAZ plant. It was attended by management, plant workers and participants in the release of the first motor.
Motor number 3,000,000 removed the assembly mechanic from the assembly line of the engine assembly department, Rakhip Bakirov, the enterprise’s press service said May 15.
The first power unit for KamAZ appeared in May 1974, and at the end of 1975 the engine went into production. In 1995, the KamAZ 740.11-240 engine for the first time in Russia received a certificate of compliance with the Euro-1 environmental class
Now KamAZ is assembling an in-line six-cylinder P6 engine with a capacity of 400 to 700 hp, corresponding to the Euro-5 class. Also in the product range of the plant are V8 engines with a power of 220-450 hp. various configurations for KamAZ trucks and other types of automotive equipment. The production capacity of the plant allows to produce 12 thousand engines per year.
